WRITER'S PARADISE A scene planning sheet Use as much or as little of this as you need. These are working notes, not a test you have to pass before you can write. PROJECT: SCENE: DATE: WHO IS HERE? Whose experience are we following? WHAT DO THEY WANT RIGHT NOW? Choose something they can act on in this scene. WHAT IS IN THE WAY? Another person, a practical problem, something they won't admit? WHY DOES IT MATTER TODAY? What makes waiting or walking away difficult? WHAT DO THEY TRY? List two or three possible actions. They don't all need to work. WHAT CHANGES? A decision, a discovery, a relationship, a small shift in understanding? ONE DETAIL TO KEEP: A sound, an object, a gesture, or something only this person would notice. A POSSIBLE FIRST MOMENT: Start near the action. Leave the perfect first line for later. NOTES FOR AFTER THE DRAFT: What surprised you? What still needs work?
