Underwater scenery from the existing browser prototype
An exploration game in the making

Motherlode

Begin on an island.
Discover the ocean.
Reach for the stars.

Formerly Environment Test. Ocean imagery and the playable prototype are from the existing browser version; the Unreal edition is in development.

Where the journey begins

A world worth getting lost in.

Walk the forest trails of Beginner Island, head to Hawaii, or swim beyond the shoreline into reefs and deep-sea habitats. Motherlode brings the existing exploration experiment under one name as work begins on its desktop future.

01 / LAND

Islands and Hawaii

A seeded forest island and an early Kailua district built from geographic data, with characters, vehicles, and places to explore.

02 / OCEAN

Below the surface

Connected underwater habitats, marine life, and a descent from sunlit reefs into the deep. Weather and storms change the world above.

03 / BEYOND

Toward the stars

The next ambition: travel from the ground into space, explore generated systems, and build a life among evolving economies and civilizations. These space systems are not yet playable.

The desktop chapter

Download. Unzip. Explore.

The first Windows edition is being developed in Unreal Engine. The intended download will contain the game executable and its required game files together in one ZIP.

WINDOWS BUILD IN DEVELOPMENT

A playable Windows download is not available yet. It will appear here after compilation, packaging, and gameplay checks. For now, the existing browser prototype remains playable.

When available: extract the entire ZIP into a folder, keep its files together, and open Motherlode.exe. No game installer is planned for this first release.
