What We Store
We store account details, encrypted Venice API keys, chat threads, messages, companion settings, memory entries, export metadata, and troubleshooting logs for failed or completed model requests.
Privacy
Last updated May 18, 2026. Luminary Chat is built around private accounts, user-provided Venice API keys, and optional memory controls.
We store account details, encrypted Venice API keys, chat threads, messages, companion settings, memory entries, export metadata, and troubleshooting logs for failed or completed model requests.
Your Venice key is encrypted at rest using the application encryption key. It is displayed back to you in Settings by request, and it is used only to send requests to Venice for your Luminary sessions. You can replace or remove it from Settings.
Memory can be turned off in Settings. When enabled, Luminary may store durable facts, preferences, plans, or story continuity notes so future conversations can stay coherent.
Messages sent to Luminary are sent to Venice to generate responses. Venice may process requests under its own policies. Do not enter content you are not comfortable sending to that provider.
You can export your account chat data from Settings. You may delete individual messages, whole conversations, and memory entries. Account cleanup or deletion requests can also be sent by email.
During alpha, logs may include request metadata and error details so bugs can be diagnosed. You can disable diagnostic logging preference in Settings, though critical security and operational logs may still be retained.
