Quick start

- Download the package for your browser from the latest GitHub release.
- Follow [INSTALLATION.md](INSTALLATION.md) to load the package locally.
- Select Save window from the toolbar popup.
- Open the workspace dashboard to name, tag, restore, or reorganize the saved collection.
- Export a JSON backup from Settings whenever you want a portable copy.
Current limitations
These boundaries are part of the product and prevent the page from implying unverified capability.
- Cross-browser synchronization uses a user-provided WebDAV file. When both local and remote copies
changed since their last common version, Tabitha stops with a conflict instead of combining them. Export folder backups before manually choosing which copy to keep.
- Safe replacement uploads require the WebDAV server to return an
ETagorLast-Modified
validator. Creating a new remote file uses If-None-Match to avoid overwriting a file that appeared during the request.
- Protected-folder passwords cannot be recovered. Unlocking is session-scoped, and importing an
encrypted backup still requires the original password.
- Browser-internal pages such as
chrome://settingsandabout:configcannot be restored by an
extension and are omitted during capture.
- Extension-store publication is not the same as a GitHub release. Chrome Web Store and Mozilla
Add-ons submissions require separate developer accounts and review.
- Recovery snapshots are disabled by default and replace the prior automatic snapshot rather than
building an unbounded history.

Privacy and safety
Tabitha Workspaces has no server, account, analytics, advertising, telemetry, or remote code. Library data stays in browser extension storage until the user explicitly exports a backup. Protected-folder contents are encrypted before storage, export, or WebDAV synchronization; folder names and descriptions remain visible so a locked folder can be identified. The extension requests only the following permissions:
When WebDAV sync is enabled, Tabitha asks separately for access to only the HTTPS server origin selected by the user. WebDAV credentials stay in local extension storage and are not included in library exports or remote backup files.
Koofr users must enter a full file URL under https://app.koofr.net/dav/Koofr/ and use their Koofr email address plus an application-specific password. Saving and enabling the connection performs an immediate sync check so configuration or conflict errors are visible at once.
