Terms of service
Effective September 10, 2026
About these terms
These terms cover Document Forge, a browser-based PDF tool offered by Logan Pendragon through Logan Pendragon Forge. By using this service, you agree to these terms and acknowledge the privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be legally able to agree to these terms or have permission and supervision from a parent or guardian where required.
The free core
The core workflow—opening a PDF, filling it out, adding your signature, and downloading the completed PDF—will remain free. There is no required account, watermark, trial payment, or export fee. We may introduce optional paid accounts, document management, or other monetization around this core. Those additions will not place this core workflow behind a paywall or create a charge without your separate agreement.
The free commitment describes pricing, not a promise that this experimental service will be continuously available or maintained forever.
Your documents and authorization
You retain your rights in your documents and entered content. You are responsible for having permission to use, modify, sign, download, and share them. Use only your own signature or a signature you are authorized to apply. Do not forge signatures, impersonate someone, alter a document deceptively, infringe others’ rights, distribute unlawful content, or use the tool for fraud.
Do not attack, overload, probe for unauthorized access to, or interfere with the service. We may restrict abusive access to protect the service and others.
What a signature here means
Document Forge places a visible electronic signature in a PDF. It does not provide a certificate-based digital signature, cryptographic tamper seal, identity verification, notarization, recipient authentication, delivery service, or signing audit trail. It does not collect or verify consent from other parties.
A signature’s legal effect depends on applicable law, the document, intent, consent, and other circumstances. No universal enforceability claim is made. You are responsible for confirming the recipient accepts this type of signature and for obtaining any required identity checks, witness, consent, records, or notarization. The tool does not provide legal advice.
Supported files and output
The editor supports standard, unencrypted PDFs within the displayed limits. Password-protected documents, XFA forms, and files with existing certificate signatures are not supported. Unusual PDFs, fonts, forms, and page content may not work as expected.
Downloads flatten form entries and add visible marks. This does not make a PDF tamper-proof. Inspect every page of your downloaded file for accuracy, placement, missing information, and legibility before sharing or submitting it. Keep the unsigned original if you need it. This editor does not remove confidential content securely and must not be used as a redaction tool.
No storage or recovery service
PDF processing takes place in the browser. There is no server document archive, account backup, or recovery promise. Download before clearing, refreshing, or closing. Clear discards the current app session; it cannot remove originals, downloads, or copies outside the app. Website access logs are separate, as explained in the privacy policy.
Availability and changes
Document Forge is currently a Forge Experiment. Features, compatibility, limits, and availability may change. We may fix, suspend, discontinue, or move the service. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, compatibility with every PDF, or the suitability of the tool for your particular purpose.
Disclaimer and responsibility
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, noninfringement, or error-free operation. You are responsible for checking your output and protecting your own copies.
To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from use or inability to use the service, including lost data, missed deadlines, rejected documents, or disputes over signatures. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer rights that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.
Third-party software and links
The service uses open-source software under its respective licenses, listed on the credits page. Links to other pages or services are for convenience and do not extend this editor’s privacy or feature commitments to them.
Updates and contact
Updated terms will be posted here with an effective date. Changes apply prospectively, subject to applicable law. Optional paid services will have separate terms before purchase. If one provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. Questions may be sent through the Forge contact page.
