COMMUNITY RULES
Be useful. Be honest.
Respect the work.
Your writing belongs to you
Post work you own or have permission to share. A feedback request shares an excerpt with signed-in members; your other drafts remain private. Do not copy, republish, or sell someone else’s writing.
Keep the lanes separate
Human-only means no AI-generated critique and no uploading the excerpt to an AI service. In the AI-assisted lane, the author has allowed outside AI tools. Reviewers must label their critique through that lane, check it for accuracy, and take responsibility for it. Permission applies only to that submitted excerpt and that feedback request.
Credits pay for useful attention
A request reserves five Reader Credits. The writer chooses one critique to accept; its reviewer receives those five credits. Other critiques do not earn credits for that request. You cannot review your own work. Requests without critiques may be cancelled for a full credit return. No cash payouts, credit transfers, or promises of publication.
Disagreements and reports
Critique the writing, not the person. No harassment, plagiarism, spam, or undisclosed AI critiques. Use Report on a post, listing, or critique to flag a problem. Reports require human review; a report does not automatically remove content.
Account and data
We store your account details, password hash, drafts, posts, critiques, listings, and credit activity on the site’s server. Account cookies keep you signed in. Verification and password-reset links are emailed to your address. We do not send drafts to AI services. If you opt into AI-assisted feedback, reviewers may use outside providers under those providers’ policies. Keep your own downloaded copies of important work.
Directory links
Book links lead to external sites. Their prices, availability, sales, and policies are their responsibility. Listings are submitted by members.
